Construction Technician | Cambridge | Up to £27,152 We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established college for a Construction Technician to provide hands-on technical support across their Construction workshops. You'll play a key role in keeping practical teaching running smoothly – maintaining equipment, preparing materials for practical sessions, and supporting lecturing staff during demonstrations and assessments. Key Facts * Salary: £25,823 – £27,152 per annum DOE (pro-rated if part-time) * Contract: Permanent, Full Year * Hours: 37 hours per week * Location: Cambridge * Pension: Local Government Pension Scheme * Annual Leave: 27 days per annum * Courses/Areas Supported: Construction Multi-Skills, Bricklaying, Carpentry, Plumbing What You'll Be Doing * Maintaining, repairing and calibrating equipment across Construction workshops and training areas * Preparing and setting up tools, equipment and resources ahead of practical sessions and demonstrations * Supporting lecturing staff during practical sessions, assessments and awarding body examinations * Managing stock levels of raw materials, tools and components, including ordering and inventory records * Maintaining Health & Safety, COSHH and risk assessment records for all workshop equipment * Contributing to Department meetings and supporting course design and development What We're Looking For * Level 2 Diploma in a Construction-related trade, or relevant trade experience * Experience working in a construction environment, ideally across multiple trade workshops (bricklaying, carpentry, multi-skills, plumbing) * Current Health & Safety knowledge relevant to the construction industry * Good interpersonal, administrative and communication skills * Ability to work under pressure, prioritise, and maintain accurate records * Flexibility to support occasional evening classes (up to 2 per week) and weekend open days
