Design Manager

Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset

Sphere Solutions are recruiting an experienced Construction Design Manager to join a major construction project at Hinkley Point C.

Our client is involved in complex construction and building services packages on one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, requiring strong design coordination and collaboration between site teams, designers, engineers and subcontractors.

This is a long-term opportunity, with the successful candidate working between the site and project offices to ensure designs are coordinated, buildable and delivered in line with programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate design information across multiple construction packages.

Liaise with consultants, architects, engineers and subcontractors.

*

Review drawings, specifications and technical submissions.

*

Identify and resolve design clashes and technical issues.

*

Ensure designs are suitable for construction and meet project requirements.

*

Monitor design deliverables against project programmes.

*

Support site teams with technical queries, design changes and construction solutions.

*

Maintain accurate design records and ensure compliance with relevant standards and procedures.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Design Manager or Construction Design Manager.

*

Strong background in construction design coordination and technical delivery.

*

Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.

*

Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

*

Ability to work collaboratively with site-based and office-based teams.
