Looking for a Design and Technology Teacher in Sheffield! Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher Location: Sheffield Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time Do you have a flair for creativity and a passion for equipping students with practical, real-world skills? As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will inspire students to think creatively, solve problems practically, and develop a broad understanding of design principles and manufacturing processes. Responsibilities: Plan and deliver stimulating Design and Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to support KS5 where applicable Guide students through design processes, from initial concept through to finished product Assess student work consistently and provide constructive, developmental feedback Manage workshop and classroom environments safely and in accordance with health and safety guidelines Differentiate teaching to engage and challenge students across all ability ranges Collaborate with departmental colleagues on curriculum planning and resource development Foster creativity, independent thinking, and technical skill in every lesson Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification A degree in Design and Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline Experience teaching DT in a secondary school setting is desirable Sound knowledge of design processes, materials, and practical techniques Strong classroom and workshop management skills An enthusiastic, student-centred approach to teaching and learning An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete a new application) Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application.
