Head of Health & Safety Location: West Midlands Salary: £85,000 + Excellent Benefits Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent An established and highly respected UK construction business is looking to appoint an experienced Head of Health & Safety to lead and develop its health, safety and wellbeing strategy across the organisation. This is a senior leadership opportunity where you'll work closely with the Managing Director and Board, driving a positive safety culture, ensuring legislative compliance, and continuously improving health and safety performance across multiple projects and business functions. The Role Key responsibilities include: Leading the company's Health & Safety strategy and promoting best practice throughout the business. Providing expert advice to Directors and senior leadership on all health and safety matters. Managing, coaching and developing the Health & Safety team. Ensuring compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and Building Safety requirements. Leading accident, incident and near-miss investigations, implementing lessons learned. Monitoring performance, identifying trends and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Supporting client bids, audits and accreditations including CHAS. Building strong relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, insurers and supply chain partners. Promoting wellbeing initiatives and fostering a proactive safety culture across the business. About You We're looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional who has: A proven track record in a senior Health & Safety leadership role within the construction industry. Excellent knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and Building Safety regulations. Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience influencing senior leadership teams and driving cultural change. The ability to develop teams, improve systems and implement best practice across a growing business.
