Surgical Care Practitioner (Permanent)

Job Description Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Senior Endoscopy Nurses or ODP's to join the team as Endoscopy Lead at our client's Acute Hospital site based in beautiful Bath, Somerset. \n The Unit operates from 08.00 – 18.00, Monday-Friday and occasional Saturdays. \n As the successful applicant, you will; \n – be responsible and accountable for the daily management of the endo and decontamination suite, managing a wide range of priorities, including staff management. \n – ensure the JAG accreditation standards are met, British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) guidance, and the National and Local decontamination guidance is followed. \n – perform the tasks of preassessment and endoscopy assistant during procedures (sedation and GA), when required, in collaboration with other members of the MDT. \n – be responsible for the professional development of the endoscopy team and overall work performance. \n This is an award-winning hospital, led by some of the South-West's most experienced consultants supported by 24/7 RMO cover on-site. \n Rated ‘outstanding' for caring – this unique centre of excellence was a long-established independent sector hospital, acquired through investment by the NHS in June 2021. \n The Endoscopy Unit undertakes diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy investigations such as Colonoscopy, Gastroscopy, Polypectomy, Cystoscopy and TOE, and starting a new Colon Capsules initiative. \n The Hospital has 28 en-suite single inpatient beds, 22 day-case beds and 5 ambulatory care beds. \n Facilities include 9 consulting rooms, 4 state-of-the-art operating theatres (2 with laminar flow), a JAG accredited Endoscopy suite, a dedicated cardiology suite and intervention treatment room. \n The dedicated physiotherapy department has a gym and four treatment rooms. \n The Digital diagnostic unit includes CT, MRI, General X-ray and Ultrasound \n Person requirements \n RGN or ODP with appropriate NMC/HCPC registration as applicable. \n At least two years in a Senior Endoscopy Practitioner post with a good range of Endoscopy clinical skills \n Experienced in taking charge of the suite; managing and motivating team members \n Experienced in the processes of JAG accreditation \n Experience and knowledge of decontamination and requirements of national standards \n The additional benefits of working for this organisation include: \n – Personal pension plan \n – Employee discount scheme \n – Life assurance \n – Bike to work scheme \n – Season ticket loan \n – Private medical insurance \n We are a leading healthcare recruitment partner with particular expertise in the placement of the full range of Healthcare staff, including Operating Theatres. \n As a nurse-led consultancy our detailed understanding of the complexity of Endoscopy roles places us in an excellent position to match your skills with the specific requirements of our Theatre Recruiting Managers. \n If this role is not for you, please remember we offer a generous £500 Bonus for any successful friend or colleague referrals. \n \n JBRP1_UKTJ
