This is a great opportunity to join a well-established business specialising in generators and power solutions, in a Workshop Technician role based in Warmley, Bristol (BS30). The position involves supporting the engineering and rental teams with the preparation, testing, and repair of large generator sets.
Salary & Benefits:
- £26,500 - £28,000 per annum
- Overtime Rates: (Mon-Fri after 17:00 1.5x, Saturdays 1.5x, Sundays & Bank Holidays 2x)
- MondayFriday: 08:0017:00
- Full time & Permanent role
- 40 Hours per week
- Annual bonus scheme
- 23 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service)
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support the servicing, maintenance, and general upkeep of large containerised generators (500 KVA and above) within the rental fleet, ensuring adherence to manufacturer service schedules
- Assist with general yard operations, including loading and unloading equipment
- Operate a forklift in the yard when required, following completion of appropriate training
- Record generator operating hours and fuel levels for units returned by customers or company transport when requested
- Support service and repair activities on equipment both on-site and off-site as required
- Drive company vehicles to collect and deliver parts and essential equipment when needed
- Participate in the engineers on-call rota (currently 1 week in 8), subject to successful training
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring work areas remain clean and organised
- Comply with all company Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Follow ISO-aligned quality, environmental, xwzovoh and occupational health and safety management systems, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Experience & Skills required:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Forklift Truck Licence
- Previous experience of working in a workshop environment
- Holder of CSCS Card
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Have a flexible approach to work as the needs of the business
