Are you an experienced Childrens Residential Support Worker ready to take the next step into leadership?
Were recruiting for a Team Leader to join a growing, high-quality childrens residential provider in the West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation that puts therapeutic care, stability and positive outcomes for young people at the heart of everything it does.
Youll be joining a well-supported home with a strong emphasis on staff development, training and genuine career progression.
The Role As Team Leader, youll take a hands-on leadership role within the home, supporting and mentoring Residential Support Workers while helping to provide a safe, structured and nurturing environment for the children in your care.
You will:
Lead and support the staff team during shifts.
Act as the responsible person on shift and oversee effective handovers.
Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
Support young people with education, activities, appointments and developing independent living skills.
Use trauma-informed approaches to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
Maintain consistent boundaries and a safe, nurturing home environment.
Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
Work alongside social workers, therapists, schools and other professionals.
Complete care records, reports and incident documentation to a high standard.
Support and mentor less experienced members of the team.
What Were Looking For Were looking for someone who is calm, reliable and genuinely passionate about improving outcomes for children in residential care.
You will ideally have:
At least 3 years' experience within residential care.
Previous experience within childrens residential services .
A Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People / Residential Childcare , or willingness to complete this.
A good understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries and trauma-informed care.
The confidence to lead a shift and support other members of staff.
A full UK driving licence .
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and sleep-ins as part of a 2-on, 4-off rota .
Previous Team Leader or Senior Support Worker experience would be advantageous, although experienced Residential Support Workers ready to progress are also encouraged to apply.
What's On Offer? From £15.00 per hour
Competitive salary within the top end of the sector.
2-on, 4-off shift pattern.
28 days annual leave.
Fully funded Level 3, 4 and 5 qualifications .
