This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference during the most important stages of a child's development. You will work directly with children and families, helping to improve outcomes through coordinated support, evidence-based interventions and effective partnership working.

As a key professional for families, you will help ensure children receive the right support at the right time, while empowering parents and carers to navigate SEND pathways and access the services they need.

The Role

As an Early Years Complex Needs Co-ordinator, your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the triage of health notifications and coordinating appropriate early interventions.

Building positive, trusting relationships with children, parents and carers.

Delivering targeted, play-based interventions to support children's learning and development.

Empowering parents and carers to incorporate learning opportunities into everyday home routines.

Supporting families through SEND pathways, referrals and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes.

Coordinating multi-agency support plans, working collaboratively with Early Years, Health, Family Support and voluntary sector partners.

Promoting inclusive practice and helping families access appropriate services.

Supporting children's transitions into early years settings and reception.

Preparing professional reports, assessments and recommendations.

Contributing to the ongoing development of early years SEND and inclusion services.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A Level 3 qualification in Early Years or SEND, or an equivalent relevant qualification.

A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), SEND Code of Practice (0–25), Portage principles and safeguarding legislation.

Sound knowledge of child development and developmental assessment.

Proven experience supporting young children with developmental delays, disabilities, additional needs and SEND.

Experience delivering home-based, outreach or community-based family support.

Experience of multi-agency working and delivering play-based interventions.

Knowledge of supporting children and families through transitions into education settings.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with parents, carers and professionals.

Strong report-writing, record-keeping and IT skills.

The ability to manage your own caseload, work independently and prioritise competing demands.

The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to young children's lives during their most important developmental years.

A rewarding frontline role supporting children and families.

Collaborative working with professionals across Education, SEND, Health and Family Support services.

Ongoing supervision, training and professional development opportunities.
