Estimator / Senior Estimator – The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator to join the company’s busy pre-construction team.

The role involves managing multiple tenders simultaneously across a diverse range of refurbishment, fit-out and general building projects.

With tender periods typically around four weeks, the successful candidate must be comfortable progressing two or three tenders concurrently, switching between projects and managing competing deadlines.

This position would suit a highly organised, commercially minded Estimator who thrives in a varied, fast-paced main contracting environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Preparing competitive tenders for refurbishment, fit-out and general construction projects.

* Managing multiple tender submissions simultaneously.

* Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.

* Preparing detailed cost estimates and pricing schedules.

* Undertaking site visits and assessing project requirements.

* Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.

* Identifying value engineering opportunities and alternative construction methods.

* Assessing programme requirements, logistics and project risks.

* Liaising with clients, consultants and the operational team.

* Managing tender queries, clarifications and submissions.

* Supporting tender handovers following successful project awards.

* Maintaining accurate estimating records and cost information.

The Ideal Candidate

* Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within a main contractor.

* Ideally experienced in refurbishment, fit-out or general contracting.

* Comfortable managing two or three tenders concurrently.

* Experience pricing projects from £100k to £1m+.

* Strong understanding of construction methods, subcontractor packages and pricing.

* Excellent time management and organisational skills.

* Ability to prioritise effectively and work to demanding tender deadlines.

* Commercially astute, detail-oriented and confident working independently.

* A proactive, adaptable and professional approach.
