The Company

Operating across commercial, education, hospitality, retail and public-sector environments, the business has developed an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects and building long-term client relationships.

Projects typically range from £100k to £400k, with larger schemes exceeding £1m.

Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor – The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team.

This is a varied and commercially engaging position, taking responsibility for multiple refurbishment and fit-out projects simultaneously.

Unlike traditional main contracting positions focused on a single large development, this role requires someone comfortable managing three or more smaller, fast-moving projects at different stages of delivery.

The successful candidate will be commercially astute, highly organised and confident managing competing priorities within a busy contracting environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Commercial management of multiple refurbishment and fit-out projects, typically £100k–£400k in value.

* Managing subcontractor procurement, tender analysis and package appointments.

* Preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.

* Producing accurate cost value reconciliations (CVRs).

* Managing valuations, variations and change control.

* Negotiating and agreeing subcontractor and client final accounts.

* Monitoring project profitability and identifying commercial risks.

* Working closely with Contracts Managers and operational teams.

* Managing contractual correspondence and administration.

* Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

The Ideal Candidate

* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor.

* Ideally experienced in refurbishment, fit-out or general building projects.

* Comfortable managing several projects simultaneously.

* Strong commercial awareness and subcontractor management skills.

* Excellent organisation and ability to prioritise competing deadlines.

* Confident working independently and taking commercial ownership.

* Experience with JCT contracts would be advantageous.

* A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach.

The Package

* Salary £55,000 – £65,000 depending on experience.

* Car allowance and additional benefits.

* Hybrid working – typically three days from home.

* Just one to two days per week in the Bristol office.

* Varied projects across multiple sectors.

* Supportive management team and genuine autonomy.

* Excellent long-term career development opportunities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor who enjoys the variety and responsibility of managing multiple projects within a progressive regional contractor.
