Site Manager civils and groundworks

Site Manager – Civils and Groundworks (Number 1 on site) £350 per shift Northwest based – Nationwide Projects Start: ASAP Duration: Long Term – Multiple Schemes I am recruiting for an established groundworks and civil engineering contractor delivering projects typically ranging from £200k to £2m. I am looking for an experienced Civils Site Manager (Number 1 on site) to oversee multiple groundworks and civils projects. This is a supported operational role reporting directly to the Directors. You will NOT carry full commercial responsibility — pricing, valuations and senior oversight on all projects are provided. THE ROLE The role includes remote working when not required on site. Applicants must be organised, self-motivated and able to work effectively from a suitable home office setup. We offer a flexible working environment and expect applicants to effectively manage their own time. • Manage the day-to-day delivery of projects • Ensuring works are safe, organised and running to programme. • Producing and managing 2–4 week look-ahead programmes • Feeding progress updates into the master programme • Weekly labour, plant and material planning • Ordering and calling off materials in advance • Coordinating supervisors and subcontractors • Leading DABS meetings and toolbox talks • Implementing and maintaining H&S documentation • Producing supplementary RAMS from company templates • Attending client meetings and progress reviews • Ensuring quality control on site • Managing records, photos and reporting • Identifying issues early and resolving them proactively You must be practical, solutions-focused and comfortable taking ownership of operational delivery — with full support available from Directors whenever required. PROJECTS INCLUDE: • Deep drainage • Foundations and substructures • Roads & sewers (adoption works) – Not Resi • Section 278 works • Reinforced concrete works • General groundworks packages REQUIREMENTS: • CSCS Black or Gold Card (minimum) • SMSTS • Proven experience in groundworks and civil engineering • Strong knowledge of H&S and site documentation • Competent in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, OneDrive) • Full UK Driving Licence • Willing to travel and stay away 2–3 nights per week where required DESIRABLE (but not essential): • Temporary Works Supervisor • Streetworks Supervisor • Experience with MS Project / Bluebeam / AutoCAD WHAT WE PROVIDE • Company vehicle • Fuel card • Laptop • Company credit card for hotels and subsistence • Director-level support and guidance • Performance-based bonuses • Career progression and further training opportunities • A small, supportive management structure • Structured bonus potential based on performance and results.
