Freelance Quantity Surveyor / Senior QS
Location: Catterick, North Yorkshire (Site-Based at Marne Barracks)
Duration: 3 - 6 Months
Rate: £450-£500 per day umbrella (no LTD)
Commitment: Full-time (Minimum 4 days per week on-site)
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major defense infrastructure project at Marne Barracks. Working as a key part of a wider commercial team, your primary focus will be driving subcontract procurement to ensure project milestones are met with precision and commercial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Management: Issuing ITT (Invitation to Tender) documentation to the supply chain.
Commercial Analysis: Analyzing quotes, undertaking detailed measure checks, and conducting tender comparisons.
Negotiation: Leading tender discussions and negotiations with subcontractors to ensure value for money and technical compliance.
Documentation: Drafting formal subcontract order documentation.
Reporting: Compiling accurate internal and external procurement reports for senior stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience as a QS or Senior QS within the construction or civil engineering sectors.
Strong background in subcontract procurement and supply chain management.
High level of proficiency in measurement and cost analysis.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Security Clearance: Due to the nature of the site, candidates must be eligible for (or currently hold) relevant security clearance to work on a military installation.If you are interested, please send your CV to Rhianna in the Newcastle office.
