Job Description

If the following job requirements and experience match your skills, please ensure you apply promptly.

We have been instructed on a new requirement with a leading global law firm that is looking for an experienced Corporate Lending Lawyer to join its highly regarded banking practice on an initial 6-month contract.

The role is to start ASAP and will be based in London, operating on a hybrid basis with circa 3 days per week required in the office.

The successful lawyer will join a well-established finance practice and can expect exposure to a broad range of high-quality corporate lending transactions. Working closely with a Partner and the wider team, they will be involved across the lifecycle of financing transactions, from term sheet stage through to closing and post-closing.

Responsibilities are likely to include drafting and negotiating facility agreements and intercreditor agreements, negotiating security documentation, liaising with local counsel on multi-jurisdictional matters and coordinating transactions through to completion.

The firm is particularly interested in lawyers with strong corporate lending experience gained within notable city and/or international law firms.

Applicants are likely to be able to demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales, or another commonwealth jurisdiction (such as Australia or New Zealand, for example)
  • Upwards of 2 years post qualified experience
  • Strong corporate lending and general banking experience gained within a notable city or international law firm setting
  • Experience of drafting, reviewing and negotiating facility agreements and other financing documentation
  • The ability to manage transactions from term sheet stage through to closing and post-closing
  • Experience of multi-jurisdictional financing transactions and coordinating with local counsel
  • Confidence negotiating with counterparties and leading transaction calls
  • Strong client-facing skills and a commercial, pragmatic approach
  • The ability to work effectively with Partners, associates and junior members of a wider banking and finance team
  • The capacity to start a new role immediately or at short notice

This is a full-time, 6-month opportunity, with a competitive daily rate.

This would be a great opportunity for an experienced corporate lending lawyer looking to undertake high-quality transactional work within a leading international banking practice.

For further information, and a confidential conversation, please apply to Jennifer Pike.

Please note that where a level of preferred experience or qualification is indicated, this is a guideline only and does not preclude applications from candidates with more or less experience. xwzovoh
