Are you confident using behaviour management strategies to help pupils engage positively with learning? Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil within a supportive primary school in Oldham. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in a child's educational journey by helping them feel supported, safe, and able to succeed within the classroom environment. The Role As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide focused 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with behavioural needs Use effective de-escalation and behaviour management strategies to support positive outcomes Work closely with the class teacher and external professionals to follow an individual support plan Encourage the pupil's engagement in learning and classroom activities Maintain a calm, positive, and consistent approach throughout the school day Record behaviour incidents, progress, and interventions when required Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the pupil to encourage confidence and development The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or challenging behaviour Team-Teach training, or willingness to complete relevant training A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour support Strong communication and teamwork skills The ability to adapt quickly to changing situations within the classroom A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning What the School Offers A supportive and inclusive school environment Ongoing professional development opportunities Long-term stability with competitive rates of pay The opportunity to make a lasting impact on a child's education and wellbeing A rewarding role within a dedicated and experienced staff team This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on and dynamic environment and is committed to helping children develop the confidence, structure, and support they need to succeed.
