The Head of Fire Engineering's Role

The successful Head of Fire Engineering will work closely with the Director, overseeing the fire engineering department, driving technical excellence and supporting the strategic growth of the consultancy.

Lead, manage and develop a team of Fire Engineers, ensuring high standards of technical delivery.

Oversee complex fire engineering projects, fire strategies and performance-based design solutions.

Take responsibility for departmental performance, resource planning and project delivery.

Mentor senior engineers and support recruitment, training and team development.

Maintain strong relationships with key clients, architects, developers and approving authorities.

Drive business development, commercial performance and the continued expansion of the department.

Work alongside the Director to shape the consultancy's long-term strategy.

The Head of Fire Engineering

Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is essential.

Extensive experience within a fire engineering consultancy environment.

Proven track record of leading, managing and growing fire engineering teams.

Strong technical knowledge of fire strategies, performance-based design and complex building projects.

Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations, BS 9999 and relevant fire engineering standards.

Strong commercial awareness, leadership and client relationship management skills.

Experience managing departmental budgets, resources and project profitability.
