Longvale designs and manufactures process automation instrumentation solutions for the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Nuclear, Military and Rail industries.

We are looking for an CNC Turning and Mill/Turn Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team.

The successful candidate will set up and operate CNC turning and mill/turn machines, producing high-precision components to engineering drawings and specifications. The role involves turning, milling, drilling, tapping and boring, as well as tool setting, inspection and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC turning and mill/turn machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Set and adjust tooling, workholding and machining parameters.
• Inspect components using precision measuring equipment.
• Identify and resolve machining and tooling issues.
• Complete production and inspection documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Meet production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Learn new skills and develop within the business.

Requirements

• Previous CNC turning and/or mill/turn experience.
• Good understanding of machining, tooling, speeds and feeds.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances.
• Good inspection and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and progress.

Desirable but Not Essential

• CNC programming experience.
• SolidWorks or other CAD experience.
• Relevant CNC/machining qualifications.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM
