Accountant - Accountancy Practice

This is a 12-month contract offering a hybrid working arrangement.
As the UK Statutory Reporting Accountant, you will be part of a busy Finance Team, working closely with external auditors and playing a key role in the delivery of an effective and efficient external audit.  You will be responsible for the preparation and review of the statutory accounts and delivery of all aspects of financial accounting for a number of large UK entities, with presence in numerous countries. Oversee the audit function for the consolidation of of the company together with a number of other UK companies, which includes:

Preparation and approval of audit packs prior to audit
Preparation of statutory accounts and necessary disclosures in line with requirements of FRS 102
Communicating with ledger controllers on audit requirements and provision of guidance on technical accounting issues
Communicating with external auditors
Assist in drafting key management papers for the audit and ad-hoc technical accounting projects, such as analysis of complex or judgemental transactions and adoption of new standards
Maintain an awareness of developments in the field of Statutory Accounting & Reporting to ensure compliance and quality
Complete business survey questionnaires issued by Office of National Statistics
Potential to work on other European Statutory audits were appropriate
Assist with Ad-hoc Transfer Pricing Activities and other analysis
Prepare any ad-hoc reporting as required by the Europe Finance Management
Qualified Accountant (ICAS/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent

Experience of audit
Experience of interpreting and applying accounting and regulatory guidance
Strong track record in improving financial reporting processes, including effective use of technology
Previous experience of accounting and financial reporting within an oil & gas service company

Skills, training or special knowledge:
Advanced ability in Excel and Word
Caseware or statutory accounts production software experience
Working knowledge of Enterprise Performance Management and its functionality
