About the role
The successful candidate will work in an evolving regulatory environment and, will support the development, implementation and administration of the company's Compliance function in the UK and across the EMEA region. Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for the following. Support responses to regulatory supervision, including information requests, management of supervisory visits, exams and oversight of remediation.Engage effectively with management at all levels and key stakeholders globally regarding supervisory and other general compliance matters.Support the development, implementation and administration of the company's compliance programme in the UK and elsewhere as needed, including reporting, risk assessment, monitoring and training.Support the development , and implementation of processes and procedures to implement compliance policies based on UK requirements in particular Identify differences between local laws, regulations and company policies to recommend solutions to maintain appropriate compliance.Assist in the preparation of periodic compliance reports for internal and external use.Work closely with the global Compliance team on a variety of compliance initiative.Provide technical guidance and advice to rating group and business staff regarding compliance matters.Maintain up to date knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, regulations and rules to perform as a subject matter expert in compliance, and provide day-to-day compliance guidance and advice to the company.Evaluate and respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standard of conduct, including conducting internal investigations.Experience in regulated financial institutions or capital markets environment is preferredExperience in interacting with or working for financial supervisory authorities or financial stability regulators is desirableStrong academic background, including university degree, preferably in lawAdvanced degree and/or compliance certification preferredEvidence of thoughtful and insightful approach to issuesHighest ethical standardsProfessional, pro-active, flexible, diligent and dependableExcellent verbal and written communications skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsAdapts to changing market conditions and business environmentWorks effectively and supportively within a team as well as autonomousBuilds strong professional relationships at all levelsWorks on own initiative, without the need for close supervisionHighly organised and efficient with ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlinesSound judgment - capable of developing independent opinions and defending own viewFluency in oral and written English is required.
