Role Overview and Specifications: * Position: Neurology Consultant (Locum) * Division: Medicine * Department/Ward: Medical – Neurology / Clinical Neurosciences * Specialty/Sector: Surgery / Medical Neurology * Grade: Consultant (Band 8/Consultant equivalent) * Location: Slough, Berkshire (with scope for sessions at Ascot) * Contract Start: ASAP * Contract End: 23rd October 2026, 17:00pm * Schedule: Monday to Friday (5 days per week) * Workload: 2 PAs (Programmed Activities) per day Detailed Job Description: The successful Consultant Neurologist will be responsible for delivering expert clinical care within the outpatient clinic setting. While the primary base of operations is in Slough, the role offers professional variety with the scope to support a secondary group hospital site based in Ascot. Key responsibilities include managing complex neurological cases, leading outpatient clinics, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team within the Medicine division to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and care. Although categorised within the Surgery sector for recruitment tracking, this role is deeply embedded in the Medical Neurology framework, requiring a consultant with a robust background in diagnostic and therapeutic neurology. Candidate Requirements: * Full GMC Registration with a valid License to Practise. * Entry on the Specialist Register for Neurology. * Proven experience at the Consultant level within an NHS setting. * Expertise in managing neurology clinics and medical-neurological emergencies. * Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within an NHS Group structure. * Valid Right to Work in the UK.
