Our client, a high-growth quantum technology company, is seeking a Senior Physicist - Quantum RF to join their Quantum RF team. This role is pivotal to their continued success within the Defence & Security sector, focusing on the development of quantum sensing technologies for RF fields. You will be instrumental in translating advanced AMO physics concepts into scalable, commercial solutions.They are interested in people at all levels of experience, and particularly those who want to utilise the physics research and to apply it to actual engineering projects that have significant value in niche markets, particularly in areas such as the minaturisation of larger technologies.Key Responsibilities:Lead and contribute to high-impact research projects in AMO physics and quantum RF sensingDesign, model, and optimise atomic systems to meet product requirementsIntegrate opto-mechanical systems, electronics, and software into functioning quantum devicesExecute testing, validation, and system demonstrationsCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, evolving environmentCommunicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersContribute to publications, patents, and external engagementsJob Requirements:PhD in AMO Physics with substantial postdoctoral or industry experienceStrong expertise in atomic/quantum systems, ideally including Rydberg physics and RF electrometryProven experience manipulating atoms, ions, or molecules with lightDemonstrated ability to build and integrate complex experimental systemsProficiency in programming (e.g., Python, C++, Rust) and familiarity with design tools (Zemax, SolidWorks, Altium)Prior exposure to defence, national labs (e.g., DSTL), or advanced research environments is beneficialEvidence of innovation (e.g., patents) is advantageousBenefits:Hybrid working model: 3 days onsite / 2 remoteOpportunity to work on cutting-edge quantum sensing technologiesCollaborative and commercially focused environmentSupport in professional development and career progressionIf you are a highly skilled AMO physicist with a passion for quantum technologies and experience in RF sensing, we would love to hear from you.Apply now to discuss further.
