Purchasing Coordinator

Purchasing Coordinator Location: Wrexham  Salary: £30,000 per annum (permanent) Hours: Monday to Friday - 8:30 to 16:30 Trek Recruitment is delighted to be working exclusively on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company based in Wrexham. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to the team. THE ROLE This role won't see you stagnate dealing with one aspect of the department, instead you will be required to get involved in all manner of different tasks/projects. Its a great role with a great team. You will play a key supporting role in centralising procurement activities, strengthening supplier relationships, and driving supply chain efficiency. Working closely with buyers, production, and cross-functional teams, you will help ensure smooth material flow, cost control, and compliance with best practice.  Maintain accurate procurement systems, trackers, and databases (including Sage MRP) Manage and develop supplier relationships and engage with stakeholders across the business Support tender processes, data analysis, product range management, and supplier meeting and assist with New Product Development Manage selected suppliers and product platforms, identifying opportunities for cost reduction Order and expedite materials to ensure continuity of supply Monitor and optimise inventory levels, minimising excess and obsolete stock Track product lifecycles to reduce risk and liability Monitor performance against key KPIs including Supplier OTIF, stock accuracy, and service levels Ensure full compliance with company procurement policies and procedures YOU Proven experience in a buyer, purchasing, or procurement role (ideally within manufacturing) Advanced Excel skills with excellent analytical and data-handling capability Degree educated or equivalent would be preferred  Strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to deliver results quickly Someone who would want to push their career forward.
