To apply in-depth knowledge and specialist skills in leading and managing the delivery of a range of client projects across any of the following technical areas (team effectiveness & collaboration, leadership & capability, culture & organisational change, operating model & organisation development).Roles and responsibilities Provides strategic direction to the team by understanding and making clear connections with other workstreams and broader goals of the project and teamLeads complex teams/ function areas by explicitly setting standards, defining quality, providing technical and people management support to team members Leads project planning and scoping by outlining full projects/activities and resources required, e.g. time, people and skillsContributes to project economics by demonstrating good commercial discipline and leading to ensure the project commercially delivers against Arup’s business plan Liaises closely with key client stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of set project outcomes Contributes to business development, including identifying work opportunities in existing client relationships, developing compelling and winning proposals and pitch documentsDraws on relevant theories, evidence-based practice to lead the design and delivery of organisational diagnostics workshops Reviews, analyses and reports on client’s organisational behaviour and cultural landscape Applies knowledge of organisational change theories and practices to make recommendations to client challenges Leads a team of consultants in the development and delivery of end-end transformational programmes Contributes to the development of methodologies, tools, thought leadership papers and the People & Change community of practice and Operations Consulting skills network Education and experienceEducationRequired: Typically, a first degree and/or extensive experience in people and change consultingDesired: Master’s degree in the behavioural or management sciences field, e.g. occupational psychology, organisational behaviour, organisational design, MBA Professional qualification(s)Required: Chartered Member (or working towards chartered membership) with a relevant institute such as British Psychology Society (BPS) or Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD)ExperienceRequired:Extensive experience in a consulting or in-house environmentExperience in two or more of our technical areas (team effectiveness & collaboration, leadership & capability, culture & organisational change, operating model & organisation development)Strong commercial acumenProject management and delivery skills, including financial and risk managementCapability in developing business proposals for clients, by understanding client requirements and drawing together expertise from across a multi-disciplinary firmAbility to work collaboratively with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to help shape and deliver the best solutionAbility to demonstrate a methodological and creative approach to decision-making even in an ambiguous environmentA collaborative style of working that fosters innovation and team workingDesired:Experience in organizational readiness (research methodologies, job analysis, selection and assessment, training needs analysis, training design and delivery, project management)Experience in one or more of the following markets: Manufacturing, Rail, Highways, Energy, Aviation and/or Water Experienced facilitator, and stakeholder manager comfortable working with groups including senior management cohortsAccredited to use psychometric instruments: Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing (formerly Level A & B)Working conditions
Hours of work Normal work hours (open to discuss flexible work arrangements)Travel requirement
May be expected to work in client locations for up to 3-4 days a week
Travel to and from client sites /or temporary assignments to client’s offices may also be required
