The company
A Top 100 Main Contractor with a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects across East of England is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team.
Operating across a diverse range of sectors including education, healthcare, leisure, commercial, mixed-use and public sector projects, the business is continuing to expand and is now opening a new office in Essex.
The role
This is a key opportunity to play a pivotal role in the growth of the business, supporting the commercial function during the establishment of a new regional office.
Reporting to the Regional Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the procurement and management of subcontract packages
Managing subcontractor accounts and valuations
Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and in line with contractual obligations
Identifying and managing commercial risks
Preparing and presenting monthly cost/value reports
Building strong relationships with project teams, clients, and stakeholders
Supporting project delivery through effective commercial control
The Candidate
This role would suit:
An experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to step up into a Senior role, or
An established Senior Quantity Surveyor seeking a new challenge within a growing contractor
You will be commercially aware, proactive, and confident in managing your own projects.
Desirable Experience
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor
Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g. JCT)
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
