Airbus - Senior Manufacturing Engineer

From our Prestwick site, we manufacture aircraft wing structures used on Airbus commercial aircraft worldwide. As part of the Airbus family, we play a key role in delivering safe, reliable and high-quality aerospace products. * Accountable for the management and development of accurate “Bills of Materials” maintained within the Enterprise Resource Planning System. Ensure that valid Engineering Processes are deployed within the manufacturing process and effectively detailed within the process routing to satisfy requirements of the business MRPII disciplines. Manage the formal Engineering Changes communicated and agreed with the customer and valid agreed internal changes. Deploy the Continuous Improvement toolset to enable productivity and product quality improvements to be implemented in support of business and customer requirements both interna l and within the supply chain. Accountable for the Translation of Design Data (For example CAD/CATIA) and specifications into clear and concise work instructions for manufacturing products to customer and regulatory authority requirements. Support the Quality and Engineering Team Leader in discharging the people issues such as the PDR, training/development and the related WTMS responsibilities * You will * be r esponsible for the translation of Design Engineering data and specifications into clear and concise work instructions for manufacturing assemblies or product to customer and regulatory authority requirements. * * You will * be a ccountable for the maintenance, development and compilation of detail packages of work and Conditions of Supply for external manufacture with suppliers. * * You will * d evelop and implement production smoothing methods and Kanban systems. * * You will * s upport the MRB process by providing engineering instructions relating to rework, scrap and future prevention of non-conforming products. * * This includes Financial Control, vendor selection/approval, monitoring and the definition of controls and procedures to manage data produced. * Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a related engineering discipline * R elevant engineering experience within a Manufacturing Engineering environment * W orking knowledge of Microsoft Packages - Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access. * Knowledge of engineering systems and the ability to deploy the Continuous Improvement Toolset - Seven Wastes etc. * At our Prestwick facility, you’ll find a friendly, forward-thinking workplace with excellent rewards and opportunities to grow your career. * Defined contribution pension (4% employee / 8% employer) * Shift premiums up to 33% (where applicable) * Life assurance (4x basic salary) * Overtime paid at time and a half * 33 days annual leave (rising with service) * Annual bonus linked to company performance * Virtual GP service, Employee Assistance Program, and wellbeing support * Professional development and training opportunities * Free on-site car parking * Pre-employment Medical (Drug and Alcohol testing) We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace.
