At Hamelin, we’re redefining care for a better future. We support autistic people and individuals with learning disabilities to live their best lives and we’re building inclusive, compassionate communities where everyone can belong.

We’re ambitious about our future and investing in sustainable growth. We’re looking for an experienced and creative leader to join us as our Head of Income Generation and Communications.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraising or communications professional who wants to make a genuine difference in a values‑led organisation.

Reporting to the Chief Delivery Officer and working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll lead Hamelin’s fundraising, public sector contracting and communications activity. From securing new income streams and developing strategic partnerships to increasing the visibility of the Hamelin brand, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our future sustainability and growth.

It’s a varied, hands‑on role where you’ll combine strategic leadership with practical delivery, supporting a small and flexible team to maximise impact.

What you’ll do

  • Lead Hamelin’s fundraising, contract tendering and communications functions.
  • Develop and grow income from grants, corporate partnerships, community fundraising and statutory contracts.
  • Build strategic partnerships that strengthen Hamelin’s offer and expand our reach.
  • Oversee communications and marketing activity to increase awareness and engagement.
  • Provide leadership and support to a high‑performing team.
  • Report on performance and ensure income generation remains sustainable.

About you

You’re an experienced leader with a strong understanding of fundraising and relationship management. You may already be working at Head of level or be ready to take the next step in your career.

What matters most is that you bring:

  • Experience across a range of fundraising disciplines.
  • Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills.
  • Experience developing partnerships and identifying new opportunities.
  • Financial awareness and confidence managing budgets and resources.
  • The ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
  • A proactive, collaborative and solutions‑focused approach.

What we offer

  • A senior leadership role in an ambitious, values‑driven organisation.
  • Opportunities to shape and grow Hamelin’s future.
  • Flexible working options and a supportive culture.
  • Blue Light Card and Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Free on‑site parking.
  • Ongoing professional development and training.

Although this role is advertised on a part‑time basis, we are open to considering increased hours for the right candidate. We welcome conversations about flexible working and hours at the interview stage.

If you’re passionate about creating sustainable growth and helping communities thrive, we’d love to hear from you.
