A supportive secondary school in Blackpool is seeking a passionate Youth Worker / Pastoral Support Assistant to join their team this September. If you are looking to transition your existing skills into a fulfilling school-based role, this is the perfect opportunity.

The Opportunity:
Location: Blackpool, Lancashire (Accessible via public transport & with on-site parking)
Start Date: September
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM (Term-time only - enjoy school holidays off!)
Pay: £85 - £100+ per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, long-term with permanent opportunities
What You'll Be Doing:
Providing 1-to-1 mentoring and small-group support to students aged 11-16.
Supporting pupils dealing with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs, attendance hurdles, or low confidence.
Helping de-escalate potential conflicts and encouraging positive classroom behaviour.
Acting as a relatable role model and a trusted listener.
Collaborating with heads of year, pastoral managers, and SEND coordinators.
Your Transferable Skills:
No direct school experience is required-we look for practical life and communication skills:
Care & Healthcare: Empathy, patience, safeguarding awareness, and emotional resilience.
Sports Coaches & Personal Trainers: Energy, team leadership, motivational mindset, and engagement.
Hospitality & Retail: Calm under pressure, problem-solving, active listening, and conflict resolution.
Charity & Community Outreach: Deep understanding of local community dynamics and building trust with diverse groups.
Graduates (Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, Youth Studies): Academic insight into behaviour, mentorship drive, and strong interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
A positive, patient, and non-judgemental attitude.
Commitment to championing Blackpool youth and raising aspirations.
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to complete one).
