Site Engineer - Utilities

Carmichael UK are currently recruiting for an experienced Utilities Site Engineer to join a major infrastructure package on the HS2 project in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of one of the UK’s largest and most high-profile civil engineering projects, supporting critical utilities and infrastructure works across the route. We are looking for a proactive and technically strong engineer with previous experience working on large-scale civil engineering, highways, rail, or utility diversion projects. Responsibilities Setting out and surveying for utilities and infrastructure works Managing subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered safely and to programme Coordinating utility diversions including water, gas, electric, telecoms, and drainage Producing and reviewing RAMS, ITPs, and QA documentation Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards Liaising with site teams, designers, and client representatives Maintaining accurate site records and as-built information Supporting delivery teams with technical engineering expertise Requirements Previous experience as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering or utilities projects Experience working on highways, rail, infrastructure, or utility diversion packages Competent with setting out equipment including Leica or Trimble Strong understanding of QA processes and engineering documentation CSCS Card essential SMSTS or SSSTS preferred NRSWA advantageous Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
