Good fire engineers are leaving firms that treat it as a tick box

Good fire engineers are quietly leaving firms that treat fire safety as a box to tick rather than a discipline to respect. If that is why you are reading this, you are in the right place.

This is an established multidisciplinary built environment consultancy with a respected fire engineering team in London, working across residential, commercial and public sector projects. They are appointing an associate fire engineer to help lead the discipline and shape how it develops, which means seniority with substance. The role is open because the fire workload is growing and they need senior capability to match.

You would lead fire engineering and strategy from concept to completion, advise clients and design teams, mentor the engineers coming through, and have a genuine hand in the direction of the discipline. The breadth of the wider practice means you collaborate with structural, civil and building services colleagues rather than working in a silo, on a varied and substantial project list.

This suits a chartered or near chartered fire engineer with solid strategy and design experience who wants real ownership and influence rather than another seat in a process. Salary is between 82,000 and 100,000.

Every application is read personally and handled in complete confidence, and because we work directly with this client we can tell you what the team, the projects and the culture are genuinely like before you decide anything.

If fire engineering that is taken seriously appeals, send your CV. If you've read this far and you're still unsure and would prefer a detailed market insight including salary bands and market trends - then check out our free guide here:
