About this role:
Experienced Site Manager required by the Exeter office of this established regional contractor to take the lead as No.1 on a growing pipeline of work across Taunton and Exeter.
The immediate project is a £1.5m hospital fit-out within the Kings Building at Musgrove Park Hospital, creating a new gynaecology unit comprising treatment rooms, offices and waiting areas.
The project is due to run from November through to April, with the successful Site Manager taking day-to-day responsibility for the scheme and reporting into a visiting Contracts Manager.
Having already successfully delivered two projects at Musgrove, the contractor has secured this latest scheme with further hospital work in Taunton expected to follow.
The Exeter office also has a developing pipeline of Blue Light work with Devon & Cornwall Police, including police station and office projects in Exeter.
Duties will include:
· Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of projects;
· Managing subcontractors and coordinating works on site;
· Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality;
· Liaising with the Contracts Manager, client and wider project team;
· Managing works within live and occupied environments;
· Monitoring progress and resolving site issues as they arise.
About the Company/Client/Project:
This opportunity is with the growing Exeter office of a long-established, family-owned regional contractor.
With an expanding workload across healthcare and Blue Light projects, the role offers the opportunity to take genuine No.1 responsibility while joining a regional operation with strong potential for progression as the South West workload develops.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
You will be an experienced Site Manager capable of operating as a No.1 and taking ownership of your own project.
Previous fit-out, refurbishment and live-environment experience will be important, with healthcare experience highly desirable but not essential.
Candidates from regional main contractors, larger contractors or specialist fit-out/refurbishment backgrounds will all be considered.
You should be based within a realistic travelling distance of both Taunton and Exeter.
Key attributes will include excellent leadership and team management ability, strong technical, contractual and commercial knowledge, plus the focus and drive to keep works on track.
High standards and attention to detail will be well rewarded with a competitive salary, benefits, and strong promotional and development prospects
