Rolling Mill Setter

The Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced Cold Rolling Mill Setter for a well-established manufacturing business based in West Bromwich.
This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced setter with a strong background in cold roll-forming machinery. You will be responsible for setting and operating several mills, maintaining product quality and ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the quality of their output, maintain accurate production records and contribute to continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate cold roll-forming equipment, presses and ancillary machinery.

Work across several cold rolling mills, adapting to different machines and production requirements.

Ensure components are manufactured to the required specifications and production rates.
*
Monitor product quality and take responsibility for identifying and reporting defects.

Maintain accurate production and quality records.
*
Identify and report issues affecting production output, efficiency or quality.
*
Maintain good housekeeping standards and follow 5S principles.
*
Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve productivity and working practices.
*
Follow all health and safety procedures and promote safe working practices.
*
Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets and maintain consistent quality standards.
About You
To be considered, you will have:
At least five years' experience setting and operating cold roll-forming mills.
A good working knowledge of different cold roll-forming machines.
Experience setting and operating presses and associated production equipment.
The ability to work across multiple machines and production processes.
A strong understanding of product quality and manufacturing standards.
The ability to identify production issues and report problems affecting output.
Good attention to detail and a commitment to safe working practices.
A proactive approach to continuous improvement and housekeeping.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work rotating shifts.
Working Hours
Week 1 – Early shift

Monday to Thursday: 6:00am–2:00pm
*
Friday: 6:00am–1:00pm
Week 2 – Late shift
*
Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm–10:00pm
*
Friday: 1:00pm–8:00pm
Total: 39 hours per week.
Pay and Benefits
*
£13.50 per hour basic rate.
*
Additional 22% shift allowance for the rotating shift pattern, subject to applicable terms.
