Associate - Court of Protection

A leading UK and international law firm is seeking a qualified solicitor with 2–5 years PQE in Court of Protection work to join our dedicated and growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and rewarding cases within a supportive environment that values teamwork and client-focused outcomes.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage day-to-day general affairs of clients, acting as the primary point of contact.
- Work on both Deputyships and Personal Injury Trusts, ensuring compliance with OPG Deputyship Standards.
- Draft routine and non-routine applications to the Court of Protection with accompanying documentation, including Witness Statements.
- Support the preparation of Expert Witness Statements and OPG Reports.
- Assist senior team members with discrete tasks and run your own caseload with appropriate training and supervision.
- Implement policies and processes relating to the team, mentor and train junior staff, and delegate tasks as appropriate.
- Maintain regular liaison with Case Managers, clients, their families, and consult with senior team members on team policies and client management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 2-5 years PQE with specific experience in Court of Protection.
- Degree qualification or equivalent, with part or whole STEP examinations preferred.
- Good working knowledge of OPG deputy standards.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- IT literate, confident user of MS Office and legal systems.
- Ability to manage a busy workload, work to deadlines, and report on progress.
- Collaborative team member with the ability to build relationships quickly.
- An interest and enthusiasm for business development, including social media engagement.
