Product Development Chemist

Location: Telford (Must have driving licence and own transport due to location)
Duration: Permanent
Hours: Monday-Friday (onsite) – Days
Package: Up to £50,000 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Product Development Chemist to join an innovative manufacturer within the construction materials sector. This is a hands‑on, laboratory‑based position focused on the development and improvement of eco‑friendly dry and liquid products.
You will play a key role in product innovation, formulation development, and technical testing, ensuring all products meet required quality, performance, and sustainability standards.
As the Product Development Chemist you will be getting involved in….
* Develop and formulate new products and materials to meet customer and market requirements
* Improve and optimise existing formulations for performance, cost effectiveness, and sustainability
* Conduct laboratory trials and testing on raw materials and finished products
* Work closely with technical and production teams to scale laboratory developments to manufacturing level
* Record, analyse, and interpret test results, maintaining accurate technical documentation
* Provide technical support to internal teams and, where required, customers
* Keep up to date with new materials, technologies, and industry developments
Skills and Experience
* Degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline
* Proven experience in product development, R&D / Innovation / Product Development or formulation of dry and wet products
* Strong practical laboratory skills with a high level of attention to detail and safety
* Good analytical and problem‑solving ability
* Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
* Due to location own transport and driving licence will be essential
