With a strong local reputation and a loyal portfolio of clients ranging from sole traders and SMEs to limited companies, this firm offers a varied and rewarding role for an individual looking to take on a key leadership position within a successful practice.Your new roleAs Practice Manager / Senior Accountant, you will oversee a diverse client portfolio while supporting the Partners with the day-to-day management of the practice. This is a hands-on role combining client-facing responsibilities, technical accounting expertise and team leadership.Key responsibilities will include:Managing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, sole traders and limited companiesReviewing accounts, tax returns and management accounts prepared by junior team membersPreparing statutory accounts in line with current accounting standardsAdvising clients on accounting, tax and business mattersBuilding and maintaining strong client relationshipsSupporting the development and mentoring of junior accountantsManaging workflow, deadlines and resource planning across the practiceAssisting with practice growth initiatives and identifying opportunities within the client baseEnsuring compliance with relevant regulatory and professional standardsWhat you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this position, you will ideally have:ACA or ACCA qualification (or be qualified by experience within practice)Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environmentStrong knowledge of accounts preparation, corporation tax and personal taxExperience reviewing work and supervising junior staffExcellent client relationship and stakeholder management skillsStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlinesA commercial and proactive approach to client serviceExperience using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage would be advantageousWhat you'll get in returnSalary up to 55,000 depending on experienceStandard company benefits packagePension schemeGenerous annual leave entitlementOn-site parkingGenuine opportunity to progress within a growing and respected accountancy practiceVaried client portfolio and exposure to a wide range of industriesSupportive and professional working environmentWhat you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
