About the role
Arden White is currently supporting a leading aviation organisation in the search for an experienced Licensed Aircraft Engineer B1 to join their engineering team based at RAF Valley.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and safety-focused engineer to work within a highly regulated Part 145 maintenance environment, supporting both line and base maintenance operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out and certifying maintenance activities while providing technical leadership and supervision to engineering staff.
The Role:
As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer B1, you will play a key role in maintaining aircraft availability, safety, and airworthiness. Working closely with the Chief Engineer and wider engineering team, you will undertake both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities while ensuring all work is completed in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently, supervise technicians, and maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out and certify scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance activities.
- Diagnose, rectify, and certify aircraft defects within line and base maintenance environments.
- Ensure all maintenance is completed in accordance with approved data, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Update and maintain accurate maintenance records using the company's maintenance management systems.
- Supervise and support Aircraft Technicians, providing guidance and technical assistance where required.
- Ensure work is completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
- Support operational requirements and aircraft availability targets.
- Promote and adhere to company Quality, Safety, and Health & Safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and support departments to deliver maintenance objectives.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practice across the engineering team.
- Experience working within a UK CAA Part 145 maintenance organisation.
- Previous experience carrying out and certifying aircraft maintenance activities.
- Experience within both line and base maintenance environments.
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring engineering staff.
- Experience working within highly regulated aviation environments.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across multiple teams and locations.
- Experience using maintenance management and reporting systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
- Experience working within military aviation environments.
- Knowledge of Power BI, Microsoft Project, or Visio.
Essential Qualifications
- UK CAA Part 66 B1 Licence.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to obtain and maintain UK security clearance.
Desirable Qualifications
- Part 66 Category C Licence.
- Current Human Factors training.
- Current Safety Management System (SMS) training.
- Current EWIS training.
- Current Fuel Tank Safety training.
- Aircraft type ratings relevant to the organisation's fleet.
- Strong understanding of UK CAA Part 145 regulations and maintenance requirements.
- Working knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS).
- Understanding of UK CAA Part CAMO requirements.
- Knowledge of UK CAA CAP 562 and military aircraft oversight requirements.
- Understanding of Military Aviation Authority (MAA) regulations.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, maintenance data, and engineering documentation.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
