Salary: £28,000 £38,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am 4:30pm
Break: 30 minutes unpaid

Forklift Engineer Northampton

Quest Employment are recruiting for an experienced Forklift Engineer / Forklift Service Engineer to join a well-established operation based in Northampton, NN4.

This is a permanent opportunity offering stable Monday-to-Friday hours, a salary of up to £38,000 depending on experience, overtime opportunities and long-term career stability.

We are particularly interested in engineers with experience servicing, maintaining and repairing forklift trucks, FLTs or Material Handling Equipment (MHE).

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing forklift trucks and MHE
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections
• Attending breakdowns and completing repairs efficiently
• Identifying damaged or worn components and completing necessary repairs
• Ensuring equipment is safe, operational and ready for use
• Completing service and maintenance records accurately
• Reporting faults, damage and safety concerns
• Working independently and alongside the wider engineering team
• Following all company Health & Safety procedures

What Were Looking For

Ideally, you will have previous experience as a:

Forklift Engineer / Forklift Technician / FLT Engineer / MHE Engineer / Forklift Service Engineer

Experience working with any combination of diesel, LPG, electric, counterbalance, reach trucks or other MHE would be highly desirable.

You should also have:

• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience servicing and repairing mechanical equipment
• Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge
• Confidence diagnosing breakdowns
• A practical, hands-on approach
• Ability to work independently
• Good communication and organisational skills
• A reliable and professional attitude
• A desire for a stable, long-term position

Candidates from plant engineering, agricultural machinery, HGV, automotive or similar mechanical backgrounds may also be considered where they have strong transferable servicing and fault-finding experience.
