Working arrangement: In-person
Quantum Scholars is looking for a supportive, patient and reliable 1:1 SEND Tutor to work with a young person in Herefordshire. This is an in-person tutoring role and is not online work.
The role will involve providing personalised educational support to a student who may benefit from a flexible and individualised approach to learning. You will be expected to build a positive and trusting relationship with the student, adapt your teaching to their individual needs and help develop their confidence, engagement and progress.
The role may involve
Delivering one-to-one tuition tailored to the student's individual needs
Supporting the student across core academic subjects where appropriate
Planning engaging and accessible learning activities
Adapting teaching approaches to suit different abilities, learning needs and levels of engagement
Helping the student develop confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning
Providing encouragement and consistent support to help the student re-engage with education
Monitoring progress and providing appropriate feedback
Working collaboratively with parents, carers and relevant professionals where required
Maintaining clear and professional communication
Following safeguarding procedures at all timesEssential requirements
Experience working with children or young people with SEND in an educational, tutoring or support setting
Experience providing one-to-one or personalised educational support
The ability to adapt learning and teaching approaches to meet individual needs
Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills
A patient, flexible, calm and supportive approach
A genuine commitment to helping young people achieve their potential
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check, where required
Satisfactory professional references
