Skilled Fitters - Airbus Assembly | Southampton Contract Opportunity | Inside IR35 | Early & Late Shifts Ready to work on world‑class aircraft structures? We're recruiting experienced Skilled Fitters to join the Airbus Assembly team in Southampton. This is a hands‑on aerospace role for fitters with strong precision engineering fundamentals, high standards, and the mindset to operate in a specialist, safety‑critical environment. Multiple contract roles are available on early and late shifts. All training will take place on the early shift. The Role You'll be supporting the build of Airbus aerospace structures, working within the Outer False Works area and contributing directly to production flow and quality. Key responsibilities include: Precision fitting of aerospace structures Drilling and countersinking operations Sealant application Safe use of jigs and fixtures Working to COSHH and aerospace quality standards Maintaining a clean, compliant work area Supporting team delivery through reliability and attention to detail What You'll Need Strong precision engineering or fitting experience Ability to learn specialist aerospace processes High standards of workmanship and accuracy A methodical approach, with good note‑taking to avoid repeat errors A reliable, safety‑focused attitudeIdeally, you'll hold a Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Assembly and have previous aviation or aerospace assembly experience. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must: Be eligible to live and work in the UK Adhere to ITAR restrictions Be able to obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance Pay Rates PAYE Earlies: £22.23 per hour Lates (20% uplift): £25.94 per hour Umbrella Earlies: £30.56 per hour Lates (20% uplift): £35.66 per hour Shift Times Early Shift -Mon-Thu: 06:00-14:15, Fri: 06:00-12:00 Late Shift - Mon-Thu: 14:15-22:30, Fri: 12:00-18:00 What's Next?
