Contract Mechanical Design Engineer

Client Overview Our client is a hands-on multi-skilled operation with Mechanical, Electronic, Software, and Materials Science skills within their 4 walls. They are currently design, developing and getting out to market a novel product which can be applied to Automotive, Rail, Defence, Industries such as Apple and with great potential to compete in the Medical market too Job Responsibilities * CAD Design, Designing Jigs and Fixtures * Working closely with Electronics Design to ensure the Mechanics compliment the work beneath the hood * Testing the product with team and working with Prototype Engineer Skill Required * A hands-on Mechanical Designer with great attention to detail * SolidEdge user ideally, but other CAD packages can be considered (based on relevant experience) * Ideally having come from an industry where there is direct interaction between electronics, software and mechanical * These products are working within levels of 20 microns at times, so familiarity with these levels or similar are advantageous Compensation & Other Benefits * £30.00-£35.00 per hour (Outside IR35) * 5 Days on site but with flexible start/finish (typical day is 9am-5pm) * 6 Month Contract with potential of permanent role once assignment is completed Please note that our clients are unable to offer sponsorship for employment visas.
