We’re supporting a major UK defence organisation in the search for a Commercial Manager to join their growing technology business unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role on a high-profile, pan-defence digital transformation programme within a complex, long-term contracted environment.

This is a mid-level, non-line management role offering strong autonomy, exposure to senior stakeholders, and involvement across the full contract lifecycle — from mobilisation through to change, governance and growth activity.


The Role

You’ll act as a key commercial business partner to programme and proposal teams, supporting the negotiation, mobilisation and ongoing management of a complex digital services contract.


Key Responsibilities Include

  • Supporting final negotiations and mobilisation of a high-profile digital & technology-based contracts
  • Managing risk and intercompany flow-down arrangements
  • Leading and supporting contract change proposals and amendments
  • Drafting, reviewing and interpreting terms & conditions
  • Providing commercial governance across programme delivery
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
  • Supporting new business proposals and growth initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with defence contracting regulations and internal policy


You’ll work cross-functionally with programme, finance and legal teams, building strong customer and stakeholder relationships in a matrix environment.


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in commercial/contract management within defence or complex regulated environments
  • Strong knowledge of contract formation, negotiation and contract lifecycle management
  • Experience managing contract change and proposal processes
  • Understanding of UK defence contracting frameworks (SSCR knowledge highly desirable)
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced, high-complexity environment
  • WCC (formerly IACCM) qualification desirable
