About the role

Company Description Custom Intelligent Security, established in 2000, is a technology-driven, ISO 27001 and NSI Gold accredited independent electronic security specialist. The company designs, installs, integrates, and supports state-of-the-art security systems for a wide range of corporate and government organisations.

We are looking to hire an Engineering/Design orientated college graduate to join our design team based in Hertford on a permanent basis as a Junior Design Engineer. The successful graduate will be enrolled onto our 3-year development plan as a technical design engineer, mentored and trained to make great strides within the security industry. The development plan will include industry training and exposure across our business.

What you will do

The Junior Design Engineer will be responsible for producing AutoCAD drawings to support our installations and Projects team, this will include the production of detailed and standardised security drawings, attending client meetings both remote and in person, and providing design advise to client, projects and commercial teams. Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is required.

How you will do it

The successful candidate will be required to manage their time sufficiently, balancing training and workload throughout their day. Drawing requests will be issued via the project management, Commercial and occasionally directly via the design team with an expectation to turnaround designs efficiently and accurately.

The candidate will work alongside the rest of the Design team closely for the first 6 months after which they will be expected to develop into the role and perform self-sufficiency. 

Required

· Must be able to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.

· A good attitude and willingness to learn

· Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or similar

· An interest in technology

· Effective and professional communication skills

· Strong IT skills

· Driver’s licence

Preferred but not required

· Basic Knowledge of security industry

· Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD

· Relevant qualification in IT, Electrical or Engineering.

Working hours: Monday to Friday – 8.00am – 5.00pm

Location: On-site in Hertford
