BMS Design Engineer Salary and Package: £55,00 to £70,000 DOE + package (PAYE), or a self-employed contract rate depending on experience Location: City of London Position: Full-time, permanent PAYE or self-employed contract Start: Immediate or subject to notice period Up Front Recruitment is looking for a BMS Design Engineer to join an established engineering contractor’s Intelligent Buildings team. You will support a live project in the City of London, with a planned move towards Project Engineer responsibility on a new project from December. About the Company The company designs, installs and integrates building systems for major UK projects. Its in-house teams cover BMS, energy management, mechanical and electrical services, networks and smart building technology. Why Join? You will work with software, installation and commissioning teams, then develop towards taking responsibility for a BMS project. About the Role As a BMS Design Engineer, you will take ownership of defined technical work on the current project. The work covers design, coordination, installation support and handover. The BMS Design Engineer will: * Produce points schedules, Descriptions of Operation and HVAC control strategies * Develop control panel and field device designs, including valves, actuators and meters * Plan BMS and EMS networks and system architecture * Coordinate BMS interfaces with mechanical, electrical, fire, security and IT teams * Work with software and graphics engineers to check systems against the control strategy * Support technical reviews, FAT, SAT, commissioning and handover documentation Candidate Background The BMS Design Engineer role will suit someone with practical BMS and HVAC knowledge who is comfortable working through technical detail with project teams. You should have: * Experience in BMS design, commissioning or project delivery * Experience producing or reviewing points schedules and control strategies * An understanding of control panels, field devices and electrical interfaces * The ability to read mechanical, electrical and controls drawings * An understanding of BACnet, Modbus or M-Bus Experience with Tridium Niagara, Distech, energy management systems or smart buildings would be useful.
