Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

As part of this growth, they are looking for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of the full design lifecycle and become a subject matter expert for their division.

The successful Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will operate in multi-functional project teams and be tasked with leading cutting-edge design projects. Key duties include client liaison, concept design, 3D / 2D CAD, calculations, test & validation and overseeing your work into build and commissioning. As a Principal level engineer, you will also become a subject matter expert for your product group and will get to mentor the more Junior/Graduate Engineers.

The company design a highly bespoke range of precision electro-mechanical instruments through to large scale capital machinery. Each project is both different and highly interesting. They also have an excellent benefits package and career development opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer with sound knowledge of 1st principles and experience leading technical projects.

Principal Mechanical Design Engineer requirements
Degree level in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
Experience in a similar position designing complex components / equipment (or similar)
3D CAD Creo or SolidWorks (or similar)
GD&T
Sound knowledge of 1st principles, hand calculations & simulations
Project Management
Able to travel from time-to-time
