Workshop Fitters Location: Bedford Job Type: Temporary to Permanent Pay Rate: £16 - £18.00 per hour About the Role We are seeking an experienced Workshop Fitters to join our clients team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, repairs, overhauls, and preparation of used and new plant machinery, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with company procedures, quality requirements, budgets, and health and safety regulations. Key Performance Indicators * Complete workshop jobs within agreed timescales. * Achieve workshop jobs within allocated budget hours. * Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality, and safety. Key Responsibilities * Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, servicing, and overhauls on used plant machinery. * Prepare used and new machinery for sale in accordance with approved specifications. * Undertake mechanical work on new-build machines. * Accurately document and report all maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and adjustments. * Requisition parts within approved budgets as required. Skills & Experience Required * Previous experience working as a Workshop Fitter, Plant Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, or similar role. * Strong mechanical knowledge and fault-finding skills. * Experience working with plant machinery or heavy equipment. * Ability to work from job instructions and technical specifications. Authority * Authorised to requisition parts within agreed and approved budgets.
