RecruitME is recruiting for an established renewable energy business seeking a Site Manager to lead the safe, reliable and efficient operation of an anaerobic digestion (AD) and renewable power generation facility on the Isle of Sheppey.

Previous anaerobic digestion experience is desirable, not essential. We welcome managers from power generation, process manufacturing, waste and recycling, utilities, food production and other industrial environments.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will lead the on-site operations team and take responsibility for plant performance, maintenance coordination, health and safety, environmental compliance, site budgets and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities

· Lead daily site operations, resolve process and production issues, and maintain safe, efficient plant performance.

· Manage, coach and develop operators, including recruitment, training, performance reviews and team briefings.

· Plan preventative maintenance and coordinate reactive repairs, engineering works and specialist contractors to minimise downtime.

· Control site costs and budgets, monitor performance and provide operational and financial reports to senior management.

· Promote a positive health and safety culture and oversee environmental permit and applicable regulatory compliance.

· Build productive relationships with suppliers, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders.

· Manage the out-of-hours call-out rota and provide cover where required.

· Identify and implement improvements in equipment reliability, safety, quality and productivity.

Skills and experience required

· Proven site, plant, production or operations management experience in a process-led industrial environment.

· Experience leading operational teams and coordinating maintenance and contractor activities.

· Strong health and safety awareness, mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving ability.

· Commercial awareness, including cost control, budgets and plant performance.

· Ability to manage priorities, develop employees and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable experience

Anaerobic digestion, biogas, biomethane, CHP or power generation; environmental permits and Environment Agency requirements; PAS 110, Ofgem or National Grid liaison; COTC, IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications. These are advantages, not mandatory requirements.

Earnings of up to £60,000 each year.
