HGV Driver Class 1

CTS is seeking professional and dependable HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join our specialist transport operation based in Aldermaston.

This is a role for drivers who take pride in their professionalism and are looking for more than routine work. Operating within a specialist environment, you will become part of a trusted team where safety, security, reliability and attention to detail are fundamental to everything we do.

We are looking for drivers who can represent the business to the highest standards, work independently, adapt to changing operational requirements and consistently deliver excellent customer service.

In return, we offer a guaranteed salary based on a 50-hour working week, together with opportunities for scheduled and unscheduled overtime. Due to the nature of our operation, flexibility is essential and may include overnight stays, weekend working, early starts and late finishes.

Salary & Progression

Starting salary from £43,000 per annum
Progression through structured salary banding up to £45,500 per annum
Guaranteed salary based on a 50-hour working week
Scheduled and unscheduled overtime available

What You'll Be Doing

Carry out deliveries throughout the UK safely, professionally and in accordance with company procedures and industry regulations.
Maintain high standards of safety, security, reliability and attention to detail at all times.
Complete vehicle checks, relevant documentation and ensure ongoing legal compliance.
Work to planned schedules while adapting to changing operational requirements when needed.
Provide excellent customer service and represent CTS professionally at customer sites.

Essential Requirements

Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license
Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
Capable of carrying out the physical duties associated with loading, unloading and securing loads.
Full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 2 years
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to travel reliably to Aldermaston (RG7 2PQ)
Flexible approach to working hours, overnight stays and weekend working

Desirable Skills & Experience

ADR qualification (Classes 1-9)
Experience transporting high value goods
Forklift experience

Security Clearance Requirements

Due to the nature of our work, all offers of employment are subject to successful security screening and the ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearances, including BPSS and Security Check (SC) & Developed Vetting (DV) clearance (where applicable).

All security vetting costs will be funded by CTS.
