About the Role

Wigan Council is seeking an experienced and decisive Team Manager to lead our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). Positioned directly at the 'front door' of children's services, you will play a critical role in managing risk, driving initial safeguarding decisions, and ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

This position offers a structured hybrid working model designed to balance strong team leadership with flexible working:

• Office Expectations: An alternating pattern of 3 days in the office one week, followed by 2 days the next week.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Manage and support a dedicated team of Social Workers and Family Support Workers operating on the 'front door' of children's social care.

• Management Oversight: Provide robust, timely management direction on incoming contacts, referrals, and initial safeguarding checks.
