As a Principal Engineer in Finite Element Analysis you will lead innovative structural simulation initiatives that directly impact the performance of advanced submarines.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and enhancement of the Stealth Engineering Finite Element Analysis (FEA) capability, establishing best practices and technical standards.
• Perform advanced detailed FEA simulations to evaluate structural behavior under various operational conditions, assessing impacts on stealth-related performance metrics.
• Analyze structure-borne vibration and fluid-borne noise transmission across submarine components and systems, identifying potential signature sources.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams—including structural, acoustic, and stealth specialists—to ensure design solutions meet stringent stealth, structural integrity, and safety requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, visualizations, and presentations of analysis findings, communicating complex results effectively to design teams, stakeholders, and decision-makers.
• Support model validation efforts, correlating FEA results with physical testing data, and refine simulation techniques to improve accuracy and reliability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in analytical methods, tools, and processes, fostering innovation within the team.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
• Proven experience with FEA software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL, or equivalent, with a track record of delivering high-fidelity simulations.
• Deep understanding of structural mechanics principles, dynamic analysis, thermal effects, and coupled multi-physics analyses.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex simulation data and translate findings into practical design insights.
• Excellent communication skills for preparing technical documentation and delivering presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
