Manager - Warehouse Automation & Solution Design

This role is focused on helping clients design, assess, and implement automated warehouse and distribution solutions, rather than day-to-day warehouse operations management.You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, leading workstreams and projects from concept and business case through to solution design and implementation support, working closely with technology vendors, systems integrators, and client stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Delivery & Solution DesignLead and deliver consulting engagements focused on warehouse automation, intralogistics and distribution network optimisationDesign end-to-end warehouse solutions, covering processes, layout, automation technologies, systems, and operating modelAssess and compare automation options (e.g. AS/RS, AMRs, robotics, conveyors, sortation, goods-to-person solutions)Develop future-state blueprints, including functional requirements, high-level technical architecture, and roadmapBuild business cases and ROI models for automation investmentsSupport clients through vendor selection, RFPs, and evaluation of technology partnersProvide oversight and assurance during implementation phases, working alongside integrators and internal teamsStakeholder & Team LeadershipManage project teams and workstreams, coaching consultants and senior consultantsAct as a key client-facing lead, engaging with senior supply chain, operations, and IT stakeholdersTranslate technical and operational complexity into clear recommendations for executive audiencesContribute to project governance, risk management, and quality assurancePractice & Business DevelopmentSupport business development through solution shaping, proposal writing, and client pitchesContribute to the development of BearingPoint’s warehouse automation offerings, assets, and viewpointsBuild relationships with automation vendors, technology partners, and system integratorsSkills & ExperienceEssentialProven consulting or industry experience in warehouse automation, intralogistics, or warehouse solution designStrong understanding of warehouse processes (inbound, storage, picking, packing, outbound, returns)Experience designing or assessing automated warehouse solutions and supporting technology selectionAbility to develop business cases and financial models for supply chain investmentsStrong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skillsStructured, analytical problem-solving approachDesirableExperience working with or selecting WMS, WCS, or WES platformsExposure to large-scale distribution centres, omni-channel or e-commerce fulfilment environmentsExperience working with system integrators or automation vendorsKnowledge of broader supply chain transformation topics (network design, planning, S&OP, operating models)Why work for us?BearingPoint provides a highly competitive and flexible benefits package designed to support employee well-being, career development, and work-life balance.
