SHEQ Advisor
£45,000 - £60,000 Company Vehicle / Car Allowance
North London – South Midlands Regular Travel Required
Our client is a specialist UK power engineering contractor providing turkey solutions to high-voltage electrical infrastructure, including substations, grid connections, renewable energy systems and commercial electrical installations. As part of their continued growth, they are looking for an an ambitious and proactive SHEQ Advisor to join their expanding team, covering sites between North London and the South Midlands.
Working closely with the SHEQ Manager and project delivery teams, you will play a key role in supporting the ongoing management, compliance and continual improvement of their health, safety and environmental standards across the business. Key Responsibilities
Support the SHEQ Manager in the implementation and continual improvement of health, safety and environmental standards.
Review project safety and environmental documentation as part of the approval process.
Carry out specialist risk assessments where competent, including:
Fire Risk Assessments
COSHH Assessments
Environmental Assessments
Lifting Assessments
Conduct desktop audits to ensure project teams maintain compliance with company procedures and documentation requirements.
Assist in the development, review and enhancement of company policies, procedures and management systems.
Provide advice and support to project teams on SHEQ-related matters.
Identify opportunities for improvement and help drive best practice across the business.
Undertake regular site visits to monitor compliance and support operational teams.
About You
We are looking for a motivated professional who is passionate about health, safety and environmental excellence and thrives in a dynamic project environment. You will ideally have:
Previous experience within a health, safety and environmental role.
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice.
Experience reviewing risk assessments, method statements and project documentation.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
The ability to work independently and build strong relationships with project teams.
A proactive approach to identifying improvements and driving positive change.
Full UK driving licence.
Experience within electrical engineering, utilities, construction or infrastructure environments would be advantageous.
