Junior Product Developer - Job Specification
Contract type: Permanent

Location: Bond Street
Hybrid: 5 days onsite
Role Overview
The Junior Product Developer supports the Product Development team in delivering the sourcing and product development strategy. Working closely with Design, Merchandising, Buying, and Technical teams, this role helps to manage the product critical path, support margin targets, maintain strong supplier relationships, and contribute to innovative product development across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Supplier Management (15%)
Support assessment of supplier base and identify capability gaps.
Assist with costing and follow-up for new suppliers.
Work with senior team members to review supplier performance.
Support design development by allocating products to suitable suppliers.
Maintain strong supplier relationships and assist with improvement plans.
Support supplier communication, including calls, meetings, and fairs.
Assist with supplier onboarding and appraisal processes.
Product Margin (25%)
Support pricing activities to ensure target margins are met.
Assist with supplier cost negotiations and costing breakdown accuracy.
Support cross‑costing to ensure effective supplier placement.
Identify cost‑saving opportunities in collaboration with Design and Fabric teams.
Assist with costing across core lines and new design opportunities.
Product Development Support (25%)
Ensure product pricing aligns with design intent while maintaining margins.
Support cost negotiations and monitor cost impacts from design changes.
Collaborate with teams to optimise cost efficiency across categories.(Merged to avoid duplicated content while retaining intent.)
Critical Path Management (25%)
Support management of the critical path for assigned categories.
Monitor milestones and escalate risks or delays.
Ensure products progress smoothly through to delivery in partnership with Merchandising, Buying, and Technical teams.
Technical & Sustainability Support (10%)
Attend fit sessions, communicating issues and cost/lead‑time impacts to suppliers.
Use garment knowledge to flag cost considerations during fits.
Support internal sustainability initiatives and contribute to sustainable material development.
